Chemical awareness course
This is our most basic course and is designed with the general employee in mind.
The level and depth of this training is aimed at organisations with manufacturing, warehouse and basic chemical storage.
This course will provide the necessary awareness training to address your compliance regulations.
The course is conducted on your site with a duration of 1 hour. (Min 10)
Topics covered include:
- Definitions: Hazardous Substance/Dangerous Goods
- Australian Dangerous Goods codes and placcarding
- Common Hazards & Routes of Exposure
- Staff responsibilities when managing hazards
- Reading SDS
- Reading GHS labels
- Understanding Pictograms
- Chemical Safety & PPE
The course addresses different learning styles and includes oral, practical and written forms of education.
All delegates will complete a competence questionnaire and receive a certificate of attendance and achievement
Our Trainer:
Maria-Louise Culcasi holds a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Bachelor of Education and has a genuine passion for education. Her extensive work within industry over the past 20 years means that she has a breadth of understanding, knowledge and experience. Her studies also extend to Certificate IV in OHS and Environmental Management System Auditing.
